Kathleen Chapman, MT, is a Principal Research Associate for Clinical Research with 15+ years of experience providing development and management support for health-related research. As the project director for NHLBI’s Recipient Epidemiology and Donor Evaluation Study-IV-Pediatric (REDS-IV-P), Chapman oversees operations and project direction for a multisite program focused on blood transfusion safety. She also manages research projects seeking to access laboratory services to evaluate the impacts of environmental exposures on child health outcomes under the Human Health Exposure Analysis Resource (HHEAR) program, and led the coordination of workflow processes under the prior iteration of the program (Children’s Health Exposure Analysis Resource, CHEAR).
In earlier work, Chapman managed an NCI-funded lung cancer case-control study related to diesel exhaust exposure in miners, led the development team for the National Children’s Study (NCS) Vanguard Study 2.0 and managed the Camp Lejeune Health Survey, a large-scale mail and online survey project involving collection of medical records. Much of her prior work has involved protocol and materials development along with programmatic oversight and monitoring for a variety of retrospective and prospective data collection efforts funded by NIH, CDC and EPA.
